Cord Cutting 101

There are times in our lives when it is necessary to release the bonds we hold to beliefs, relationships, unhelpful behaviors, or drama with other people.  One way to do this is to cut the cords you have formed with these people,circumstances, or ideas. A cord is an energetic bond we create that can be helpful (if it is a positive cord) or hold us back (if it is a negative cord). These cords we form are invisible, and we experience them in our energetic body and our minds. Sometimes we cut cords to end a relationship or a belief system, sometimes we cut cords to clear a space for newness to occur in our relationships or beliefs.

 

How to tell if you have a cord with a person or an idea

 

  • Obsessive thought about a negative circumstance that occurred.

  • ​A person you would really like out of your life, who you have cut off contact with, will not leave you alone.

  • A condition in your life that you would really like to see change is not changing.

  • Every time you see a person you have had conflict with you feel discomfort or blocked to loving them.

  • Persistence of beliefs you would like to let go of.

Who or what to cut cords with

  • Limiting beliefs about your worth and abilities.

  • Limiting beliefs about money and relationships.

  • Drama between you and others.

  • Past relationships that no longer serve your highest good.
